Work in the Community

As a longtime member of the New Orleans Community, Children’s Hospital is committed to connecting with our friends and neighbors through outreach programs. One of these programs in which we are heavily involved is the Miracle League, a service committed to giving disabled children the opportunity to play sports. We work with both the Greater New Orleans and Northshore Leagues. Children’s Hospital also organizes the Jazz Half Marathon of New Orleans. We have to do things differently this year, but that won't stop us from coming together for our purose - to help kids!
The Jazz Virtual Challenge is a fun way for us to stay Extraordinary Together during the COVID-19 crisis. You can walk/run a 5K or Half Marathon from anywhere or “Move Your Own Way”. Whether you love to bike, swim, hike, rollerblade or do pushups, this challenge is for you. Participants receive sponsorships to help raise funds for Children’s Hospital and improve our ability to serve the medical needs of children in New Orleans and beyond. Thanks to events and programs like the Jazz Half Marathon, Children’s Hospital can continue to deliver high quality, affordable healthcare to the children in our community.
