Accommodations and services

For our families who are staying with us for an extended period of time, we offer Family Housing at our Hogs for the Cause Family Center. We also partner with local hotels to offer special rates for for families of patients being treated at Children's Hospital.

CHNOLA is committed to providing individuals with disabilities equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from CHNOLA programs and services. We offer reasonable accommodations, including access to service animals, to ensure our programs and services are accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities.

Service animals are welcome at Children's Hospital New Orleans and all of our clinics. We apply the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, which define a service animal as “one that is trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability.” Persons with service animals will be accommodated unless Children's Hospital formally determines such service animal constitutes a "direct threat" or requires a "fundamental alteration" of its facilities or services.

Accessing Children's Hospital through Magazine Street Roadwork

The City of New Orleans has implemented a roadwork and infrastructure restoration program called RoadworkNOLA which will affect access to Children's Hospital via Magazine St. The complex roadwork will likely stretch into 2023, so Children's Hospital will update this page as construction progresses. Be sure to check back here before driving to the hospital for updates on detours and reroutes, and please allow yourself extra time to get to your appointment given the delays this roadwork may cause.

Suggested reroutes:

  • Those visiting Children's Hospital and navigating through Leake Ave. (River Rd.) will be temporarily rerouted to St. Charles Ave.
  • To access the hospital from Leake Ave., be sure to follow the blue hospital signs found along Leake Ave. and St. Charles Ave. Below is a detailed map on how to access the hospital during the roadwork.
