Gerhard S. Mundinger, MD
Dr. Sol Mundinger specializes in Craniofacial, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Children’s Hospital. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and completed his residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital/University of Maryland Medical Center of Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program in Baltimore. He then completed a fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Harborview Medical Center at the University of Washington. Dr. Mundinger is a board-certified plastic surgeon and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He serves on the faculty at LSU Health New Orleans as an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery and Cell Biology and Anatomy. In addition to treating patients at Children's Hospital, Dr. Mundinger also serves at the Director of the Craniofacial Center and Division Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery. When asked why he chose to specialize in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Mundinger said, “I chose to practice Pediatrics because of the relationship I and our craniofacial team develop with families, parents and patients with craniofacial differences. These relationships often begin before birth and last into adulthood.” Dr. Mundinger sees patients in New Orleans, Covington and Lafayette.
