Hogs for the Cause Family Center
As a regional medical center for children, Children’s Hospital strives to meet the needs of the families whose children come to us from across the state and Gulf South region.
In October 2018, and in partnership with Hogs for the Cause, Children’s opened Hogs House to provide on-campus housing for families who live outside New Orleans and have a child who is receiving ongoing care at our hospital.
“By providing a place to stay for families who need it, when they need it, the Hogs House will be an extension of the healing environment,” said John R. Nickens, IV, president and CEO of Children’s Hospital. “It will be a place of rest and respite for families whose children are fighting critical illnesses.”
The house includes 13 family suites with private bathrooms, common areas with two family lounges, kitchen spaces, and a laundry room.
