Dr. Shannon Powell attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and Loyola University Medical Center for pediatric residency.
She went on to complete a cardiology fellowship at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN, followed by a cardiac non-invasive advanced imaging fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
She is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
Her clinical interests are in fetal echocardiography and non-invasive imaging.
Dr. Powell chose to practice Pediatric Cardiology because of the fascination she developed with the heart in dealing with her own father’s severe cardiac disease. She hopes to help other patients and families understand and cope with the anxiety and stress of a congenital heart disease diagnosis and its treatment.
Little Something Extra:
She relates to kids as she collects sandcastles and still maintains the eating habits of a toddler.
