Kiran K. Mallula, MD

Dr. Kiran Mallula is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Children’s Hospital New Orleans. Growing up in Nigeria, he received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College, India. He also acquired a postgraduate degree in Pediatrics from Kakatiya Medical College, India, before moving to the US, where he completed his residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia.
After pursuing his cardiology fellowship and master’s degree in Clinical Research at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and an advanced interventional fellowship at University of California San Diego, he moved to New Orleans.
He is triple boarded in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology from the American Board of Pediatrics as well as Adult Congenital Heart Disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
His clinical care encompasses catheter-based interventions for both pediatric and adult patients with the exclusive medical care of adults with congenital heart disease.
His clinical and research interests include the use of hybrid/fusion imaging technologies in the cath lab as well as transcatheter valve therapies.
He enjoys traveling and learning from cultures all over the globe.English
