Jacquelyn I. Dolan, PA-C
Jacquelyn earned her APP degree from LSU Health New Orleans’ Physician Assistant Program. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she worked at Tulane Medical Center coordinating and conducting implementation-based clinical research in cardiovascular disease and renal disease both nationally and internationally. During this time, she also obtained a master’s degree in Epidemiology from Tulane University. Jacquelyn’s clinical and research interests include congenital cardiac surgery in neonates, children, and adults, critical care, health promotion and disease prevention.
Jacquelyn chose to specialize in cardiology because the heart and lung anatomy/physiology have been particularly interesting since she was first exposed to them in the surgical setting over 15 years ago. The important interplay within and between these vital organs captured her attention and the intricacy of surgical repair is what she was particularly drawn to. She continued to expand her medical knowledge and understanding throughout her professional experience and educational training during which I was first exposed to Pediatric Cardiology. The complex anomalies and customization of surgical repair spurred her to pursue a career as a surgical PA assisting in Congenital Cardiac Surgery. Jacquelyn’s little something extra is that she’s walked The Great Wall of China!
