George S. Ellis, Jr., MD
Dr. George Ellis specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has more than 28 years of experience in his field. Dr. Ellis received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He then completed fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology with Marshall Parks in Washington, DC and Zane Pollard in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Ellis has served as President of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology Strabismus, The Southern Medical Association, and numerous other prestigious organizations including the Ophthalmology Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He sees patients at the Children’s Hospital Main Campus and Children’s Hospital Metairie Center. When asked why he loves his chosen specialty, Dr. Ellis stated, “It is very rewarding to work with young children because they have such great potential and resilience.”
Dr. Ellis sees patients at the main campus of Children’s Hospital in Uptown New Orleans and at Children’s Hospital Metairie Center.
