Center for Kidney & Genito-Urinary Disorders

Genitourinary Specialists at Children’s Hospital New Orleans

The Center for Kidney and Genitourinary Disorders at Children's Hospital New Orleans is a multidisciplinary program that provides comprehensive care for pediatric urinary and genital system needs. Our team works closely to effectively, efficiently and compassionately provide both medical and surgical care for even the most complex genitourinary issues. Led by the Departments of Nephrology and Urology, we offer a diverse group of physicians with additional training to work specifically with children.

As the largest and most experienced group of pediatric kidney and genitourinary specialists in the region, we see patients from all over the Gulf Coast, nationally, and internationally with convenient offices across south Louisiana and Mississippi. We provide the most advanced, most effective and least invasive treatments available today. We care for children from prenatal diagnosis and infancy to early childhood, adolescence and finally transitional care into early adulthood. We strive not only to provide the best care, but to also build trusting relationships with patients and their families.

Research & education

The Center is actively involved in multiple research efforts to advance the quality of care we provide for children. Research is conducted with the highest standards of privacy and safety in place. Patient participation is completely voluntary and highly appreciated. Our team is primarily involved in projects based out of the Clinical Trials Center, The Research Institute for Children, and LSU Health New Orleans, but also participates in national and international research efforts. These efforts have led to multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations worldwide that have influenced the evolution of kidney and genito-urinary care for children. The medical staff is academically affiliated with the LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine and involved in mentoring and training the next generation of physicians and health professionals from LSU Health New Orleans, Ochsner and Tulane.
