Tracheostomy Clinic

The Tracheostomy Clinic at Children’s Hospital is a newly introduced multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to the care of children and adolescents with a tracheostomy. The team members include pediatric otolaryngologists, respiratory therapists, speech therapists, pulmonologists, and a dedicated care coordination nurse. Nutritionists and social workers are available to assist in the care of these patients when needed. The patients served in this clinic have tracheostomies placed by our own surgeons as well as by surgeons not on the Children’s Hospital staff.

The services include assessment and care for:

  • Tracheostomy tube and wound
  • Airway management
  • Voice and speech/language development
  • Oral feeding/swallowing and nutrition
  • Ear health and hearing support
  • Home health nursing
  • Home medical equipment
  • Developmental milestones
