Dentistry & Orthodontics

Pediatric Dentistry

Preventive care is a critical component to oral health. At Children’s Hospital, our dental clinic is operated by the LSU Health New Orleans Department of Dentistry. The clinic provides preventive and therapeutic oral heal services for infants, children, and adolescents up to the age of 21. Our primary focus is on the prevention of oral diseases through early intervention. Regular checkups and cleanings are important to screen for early signs of oral disease, which can lead to additional health problems in other parts of the body.

Our services include:

  • Comprehensive oral exams
  • Professional teeth cleanings
  • Fluoride application
  • Sealants to protect against tooth decay
  • Pulp therapy for tooth pain management
  • Space maintainers to protect gum integrity of permanent teeth
  • Orthodontics assessments
  • Trauma care
  • Education on proper tooth care for kids
