Helping patients & families deal with stress & depression

Children and adolescents with medical problems are more likely to develop depression at an earlier age than most people. This can be difficult for the child and the family, especially if neither parent has ever experienced depression and cannot understand what their child is going through. Pediatric psychologists can help both children and families find new ways to interact with and understand each other.

Working with a child psychiatrist is important for children and adolescents showing symptoms of emotional and behavioral disorders. Our team understands the various ways children respond to stress and how it can affect their growth and development. Your child will need someone they can feel comfortable talking with and who can help them open up.

Call us for an appointment

If your child recently underwent a serious medical procedure, lost a close friend or loved one, or has displayed symptoms of autism or other behavioral disorders, you should have them speak with a pediatric psychologist. Not all children will need help dealing with loss and stress, but for those that do these services can be a major source of comfort and relief.
