38 new medical interns converge at Children's Hospital New Orleans July 1

As the only pediatric facility in Louisiana with two academic medical programs under one roof, Children’s welcomes new LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine pediatrics residents.

NEW ORLEANS – As the only pediatric hospital in Louisiana to incorporate two academic pediatric medical programs under one roof, Children’s Hospital New Orleans is proud to welcome 38 new medical interns to continue their medical training in six pediatric residency programs – including LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine Pediatric Residency Programs in Pediatrics, Medicine/Pediatrics, Pediatrics/Emergency Medicine, and Child Neurology, and Tulane University School of Medicine Pediatric Residency Programs in Medicine/Pediatrics and Triple Board.

Children’s Hospital New Orleans’ partnerships with LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine create a hub of pediatric academic activity where medical students from both programs can benefit from an even more robust learning environment.

Nationwide, more than 36,943 new physicians were matched with residency programs at hospitals around the country, 2,900 in pediatrics. Nearly 400 of those fourth-year medial students came from the combined medical programs at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, LSU Health New Orleans, and Tulane University School of Medicine.
