Hurricane Ida

Recovery and support

CHNOLA Ida power

Caring for kids and our community

Children’s Hospital New Orleans team members worked around the clock to ensure that expert care for our young patients went uncompromised during Hurricane Ida.

In the days and weeks to come, and in the midst of a global pandemic, our employees will continue to care for every child, just as they always have, regardless of his or her family’s ability to pay for treatment.

As our city and region begin to rebuild, we know that our community is resilient.
We can and will get through this the only way we know how - together.

The Children of Louisiana depend on us, and we are depending on you.

How can you help during this time?

Give to our Patient-Family Assistance Fund

This fund provides critical assistance to our patient families in need of financial support while their child receives care at our hospital. Requests range from helping with disaster relief, paying utility bills, to assisting with the purchase of life-saving compounded prescription medication, not covered by insurance. Support our families in their most vulnerable time.

Help patient families

Give to our Team Member Assistance Fund

Our Team Member Assistance Fund is set up to help directly ease the financial burden on our healthcare heroes due to Hurricane Ida’s devastating effects on our region. Children’s Hospital New Orleans employees are continuing to provide expert care, in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, while facing new challenges brought on by this natural disaster. Funds will be granted to employees whose homes sustained damage during the storm and help to provide temporary housing/hotel accommodations.

Help our employees in crisis

Give to our area of greatest need – The Kids’ Fund

During natural disasters and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, other illnesses and emergencies have not stopped. The health of our patients and staff is our top priority and we will not stop working to provide extraordinary care. The Kids’ fund provides us with the critical resources we need to do what we do best – care for kids.
