As children start back to school, Children's Hospital is supporting schools and students across the state in safely returning to in person learning, including distributing 100,000 washable cloth masks to schools across the greater New Orleans Metro area. This is just one of the ways Children's is working to support our schools in reopening safely.

View this segment for tips on how to help children adjust to wearing masks in our new normal, including getting children involved in choosing the pattern or design. This helps them feel in control, and it helps encourage creativity. Parents can also play an important role in helping kids become comfortable wearing a mask. When children play and mimic, they become more familiar with the situation and it feels more normal. By having a positive attitude and setting an example, this will reflect well on your children as they head back to school.
