The Center for Kidney and Genitourinary Disorders at Children's Hospital New Orleans is a multidisciplinary program based at Children's Hospital New Orleans for comprehensive care of our children's urinary and genital system needs. Our team works closely to effectively, efficiently and compassionately provide both medical and surgical care for even the most complex genitourinary issues. Led by the Departments of Nephrology and Urology, we offer a diverse group of physicians all with additional specialty training specific to care of children.
As the largest and most experienced group of pediatric kidney and genitourinary specialists in the region, we have patients from all over the Gulf Coast, nationally, and internationally with convenient offices across south Louisiana and Mississippi. We provide the most advanced, most effective, and least invasive treatments available today. We care for children from prenatal diagnosis to infancy to early childhood to adolescence and finally transitional care into early adulthood. We strive not only to provide the best care but also to earn your and your child's trust as we consider it a privilege to care for your family in this time of need.
Conditions We Treat
We treat the entire spectrum of urinary and genital disorders with state-of-the-art techniques and technologies. These include but are not limited to the following:
Cancer/Tumors of the Kidney, Bladder, Prostate, Testicle or Ovary
Voiding dysfunction (urinary frequency or urgency)
Research and Education
The Center is actively involved in multiple research efforts to advance the quality of care we provide for children. Research is conducted with the highest standards of privacy and safety in place. Patient participation is completely voluntary and highly appreciated. Our team is primarily involved in projects based out of the Clinical Trials Center, The Research Institute for Children, and LSUHSC, but also participates in national and international research efforts as well. These efforts have led to multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations worldwide that have influenced the evolution of kidney and genitourinary care for children. All of our staff are academically affiliated with the LSU School of Medicine and involved in mentoring and training the next generation of physicians and health professionals from LSUHSC, Ochsner and Tulane.
