Children's Hospital Expansion

Children's Hospital Expansion

Children's Hospital Expansion

Children’s Hospital is the regional leader in children’s health – but we must strive for even more. Our children deserve the most advanced care possible and our goal is to deliver it by investing in facilities that will transform Children’s Hospital into a national leader in children’s healthcare.

Parents choose Children’s Hospital because they trust that their child will receive exceptional care from board certified pediatric specialists. Whether the situation is life threatening or they just need someone with extensive experience caring for children, parents rest assured that they have come to the right place for superior care.

In this transformational period, we have developed a master facility plan to address the long term and urgent needs of our children. This initiative will be completed in a phased approach.

The majority of the project will focus on a complete renovation of the current main campus, creating a new Children’s Hospital, but also make a significant investment in the neighboring property.

Expansion named to the Small Business Exchange’s list of the top construction projects in 2018

The Children's Hospital expansion projects was named one the 13 most important construction and development projects in the United States by the Small Business Exchange. Here is the excerpt from the website:

New Orleans doesn’t have the same amount of construction as many of the other cities on this list, but that doesn’t mean things are stagnant. Supertalls may not be in the mix, but the Big Easy has its fair share of new apartment complexes, hotels, and renovations.

One of the largest projects is the expansion and renovation of the New Orleans Children’s Hospital. Costing $225 million, the multi-year development will include a new same-day surgery unit, a cardiac intensive care unit, a neonatal cardiac intensive care unit, a cancer center, a 400-car garage, and a newly designed entrance and lobby.
