Baton Rouge

Ryan White CARE Act Part D HIV/AIDS Services for Women, Children, Youth and Families at FSGBR providesfamily-centered care coordination forwomen, children, youth and families infected and/or affected with HIV/AIDS helping clients access services, resources and programs that enhance health and well being.Services include: case management, support groups, counseling, health/treatment education, transportation, child care, financial assistance toward rent, mortgage, utilities, medication, eye and dental care.

A program of the Baton Rouge Black Alcoholism Council, Metro Health provides education to the community about the consequences of substance abuse and risky sexual behavior.Metro is funded through the CDC, the Louisiana HIV/AIDS Program, and Ryan White Part D program. Metro Health provides services including Syphilis testing, Hepatitis C testing, and HIV counseling and testing as well as condom distribution and community education in a variety of venues in the Baton Rouge area. The agency also supports an adherence technician at the Early Intervention Clinic at Earl K. Long Medical Center. The adherence technician is primarily responsible for working with patients to insure their compliance in attending medical appointments and provide child care while patients are seeing their physician.

Lafayette

In 1985, a group of concerned citizens founded Lafayette C.A.R.E.S. to meet the needs of those affected by HIV/AIDS in southwest Louisiana. From the early years of its inception, C.A.R.E.S. has hosted community organizations and meetings such as Narcotics Anonymous and the HIV/AIDS Consumer Advocacy Council. In 1992-93, C.A.R.E.S. first began administering Ryan White Part B Funds in southwest Louisiana. In 2006 Acadiana C.A.R.E.S. received funding to deliver Ryan White Part D services which are directed toward women, infants and children, including pregnant women, who are infected with HIV/AIDS.

Acadiana C.A.R.E.S. (Acadiana Concern for AIDS Relief, Education and Support) provides a wide-range of services including but not limited to case management (medication assistance, education, oral health referrals, mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, etc.), direct financial assistance, food bank and several housing programs.

Monroe

Greater Ouachita Coalition Providing AIDS Resources and Education, Inc. (GO CARE) was established in 1988 as a community service organization dedicated to serving persons in northeast Louisiana with HIV/AIDS. GO CARE provides direct client and prevention services. The services include case management; medication assistance; consumer advocacy; transportation assistance; dental and transitional housing as well as prevention outreach programs. These prevention efforts include, but are not limited to, HIV testing, counseling and public education.

Shreveport

Established in the spring of 1990, Philadelphia Center is dedicated to serving persons in Northwest Louisiana with HIV/AIDS by providing direct client and prevention services. The Center’s services include case management; medication assistance; mental health counseling; substance abuse counseling; food pantry; consumer advocacy; transportation assistance; dental and vision care; a permanent housing project for 14 homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS; and prevention outreach programs which include testing, counseling and public education.
