Telephone and Local Calls
Telephones are provided in each room, except in the critical care units. Patients may receive calls in their rooms from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Calling a Patient's Room

You can call directly to a patient’s room from outside the hospital by dialing (504) 894-5 + the room number. For example, to call room 201, dial (504) 894-5201. You may call the hospital operator from outside the hospital at any time for assistance by dialing (504) 899-9511.

Local Calls

Local calls may be made at any time from the room by dialing 9 + number.

Long Distance Calls
Long distance and toll calls can be made at any time by dialing 9 + 0 and the number. Long distance calls cannot be charged to your room. You can make credit card calls or charge long distance calls to your home number.

Internet Access
As a courtesy to our patients’ families, internet access is available upon request in the Social Services Department. The computer is available from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Please contact Social Services at extension 4367 to make the necessary arrangements.
