The Allergy and Immunology Department provides complete allergy evaluation through history and physical examination, skin prick testing, patch testing, and bloodwork. We work with our patients to find a management plan which best works for their symptoms and lifestyle. This may include avoidance measures, medications and/or immunotherapy vaccines. We also provide allergic asthma evaluation as well as treatment and action plan training for families and caregivers. As the only Jeffrey Modell Diagnostic and Research Center for Immunodeficiencies in this region, the department also offers full evaluation of both adult and pediatric patients with recurrent or unusual infections or a family history of immunodeficiency disorders. Evaluation includes laboratory quantitation of all immunoglobulin classes and function studies, T and B cell quantitation and function, and evaluation of phagocytes and complement. Management expertise includes, but is not limited to: - Allergic rhinitis
- Asthma
- Atopic Dermatitis/Allergic skin disorders
- Food Allergy
- Urticaria (hives, welts)
- Anaphylaxis (severe reactions to foods, drugs, insect stings, or ant bites)
- Angioedema ( swelling)
- Primary Immunodeficiency Disease
