The Infusion Center at Children’s Hospital is an outpatient service offered to pediatric patients who require intravenous care. The center collaborates with a wide range of pediatric specialties to provide the care needed for our patients. These departments include Allergy and Immunology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Nephrology, Orthopedics and others.
The Infusion Center is designed to provide accessible and convenient outpatient care for a variety of patients receiving regular intravenous infusions for conditions such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, primary immunodeficiency, nephrotic syndrome,
hypoalbuminemia, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and other pediatric conditions.
The Infusion Center provides quiet, comfortable treatment areas that allow our patients to be monitored closely by a registered nurse. Televisions, Wi-Fi, Wii, coloring books and other games are available for the patient upon request. Recliner chairs are available to improve the comfort of the patients during their time spent receiving treatment.
Please contact the specialty department/physician and provide the following:
- Signed and dated order for the infusion, including an ICD-10 code
- Pertinent clinical information about the patient
- Demographic information
- Insurance information
- Authorization for infusion (if not ordered by Children’s Hospital physician)
